This month I have the pleasure to interview Parker Morris. She's a fitness and nutrition enthusiast, a global traveler, and a master at seizing the fun. But don't underestimate this cheerful spirit; at her core, she's determined, kind, and relentless in her pursuit to bring value to the team and the enterprise clients she serves.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Hanzo?
Parker: My name is Parker; I'm originally from St. Petersburg, FL but have been living in New York City for the past three and a half years. I'm a Senior Business Development Representative & Team Lead at Hanzo. I have the privilege of leading our team in building relationships with enterprise companies to consultatively guide and educate them on their complex needs surrounding data management for risk mitigation and legal and regulatory compliance response.

What attracted you to join Hanzo? What do you like about Hanzo’s culture?
Parker: I wanted to join an organization and be a part of a team with great leaders, creativity, and growth opportunities. I was eager to learn and help solve some of the biggest challenges enterprise companies face today. I love the people I work with, and there's constant positive energy and support. Although some of us are across the globe, we have exciting cultural and social events! For example, playing Loteria was a blast. It's like Bingo but instead uses cards with images of pictured characters or other objects. The game is often used to teach reading, writing, history, and social values. We did this activity as part of our recognition of National Hispanic Heritage month, which pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched the nation and society.
What are you currently working on that benefits the customer?
Parker: I'm working on growing and strengthening the business development team to learn more about the customer's needs and current challenges in the market. Our team is focused on building relationships with organizations to solve their legal and compliance needs to help them be more efficient with their ediscovery and enterprise information archiving workflows.
What industry trends are you seeing or hearing that affect the customer?
Parker: In my daily discussions with legal, IT, and compliance professionals, the recurring quest is a solution to manage risk with collaborative applications. It's not just Slack or Teams either; it's also Confluence, Jira, project management tools, and other enterprise SaaS applications. People are looking for a way to get visibility, know what they need to preserve, and be free to let go.
What is your philosophy about problem-solving for work or life in general?
Parker: Enjoy life, work hard. There is a yin and yang to every scenario. When I have a challenging problem, stepping away from it and focusing on something else, whether going on a walk or doing something with friends, gives me perspective and time to reflect. I can then tackle challenges more creatively and solve the issue.

What is your favorite thing to do when you're not working?
Parker: I love going to group fitness classes with my friends and coming up with new healthy recipes. I love traveling all around the world and in the winter I ski a lot.

Where do you live? And, what is your favorite place to take guests to experience the best of your city?
Parker: I live in New York City, the big apple! I love taking guests to comedy shows and introducing them to my favorite restaurants. There are too many to name!
