Hanzo has a new team member whom I can’t wait to introduce. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Sarah and get to know her. She’s a foodie, a traveler, and an adventurer at heart. In fact, she’s the perfect mix of problem-solver and listener who’s very enthusiastic about her new role helping customers thrive at Hanzo.
What is your role at Hanzo?
Sarah: I am the Customer Success Manager at Hanzo. My goal is to delight customers and ensure that they find success using Hanzo’s ediscovery and compliance solutions by connecting our community with the information, help, and support they need.
What problems are you currently solving? How does it benefit the customer?
Sarah: I am lucky to be joining a team guided by a customer-centric attitude and working with many happy customers. As I have the pleasure of meeting our Hanzo customer community, I can see that the team does an amazing job at getting our customers up and running. My challenge is to build upon that success to make the customer experience even better!
Since Slack ediscovery is new to many still, I have an opportunity to support customers in this learning journey. I look forward to helping them onboard with ease and sharing how to manage some of the unique challenges collaboration data presents. I hope to help each customer get the most out of Hanzo Hold when they’re doing early case assessment, investigations, and ediscovery with Slack data.
What is your favorite aspect of working for a legal technology company?
Sarah: I love working for small companies that do big things. Hanzo is just that. Everyone is working together for a common goal. If a task needs to be done, people jump in to help — even when it is outside their job description.
What is your philosophy about problem-solving/work/ life?
Sarah: Ask questions! In order to make the best decision, you need to know all the facts. Asking questions and getting input from others allows you to see the entire situation with perspective and generally leads to creative ways to solve the problem.
What is your favorite thing to do when you're not working?
Sarah: I love to travel and explore new places. I have been blessed to visit Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, France, The Netherlands, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Iceland. I love learning about new cultures and trying new foods. I also like to stay active while here in the states; camping, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, and snowboarding. Heck, I even tried surfing in Hawaii recently!

Where do you live?
Sarah: I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Pacific Northwest - Portland, OR to be exact. A place where you get “liquid sunshine” for 9 months out of the year. But it is worth it for the 3 months of summer. Portland is nestled in the Willamette Valley (pronounced WILL-AM-IT for your out-of-towners) halfway between the ocean and the mountains. Perfect for all your outdoor adventures.
Favorite place to take guests to experience the best of your city?
Sarah: Portland is known for its food, beer and outdoor activities. So, catch a Timbers match, take a hike up to the Pittock Mansion, rent a bike and tour the city, slow down and take a leisurely walk through the Rose Garden, grab a pint at one of the many local breweries, and always end your day with a great meal at one of our renowned restaurants.
